In his wolf form, he has gray fur and darker patches of fur on his hands and collarbone area. His appearance is properly different in the Shannon Hale books , and probably different from Shannon Hale 's, books appearance in the Suzanne Selfors books.
It goes against his and Red's story for them to fall in love, but they did. They kept their marriage a secret and as a result, no one knows that Cerise is Badwolf's daughter.
Under his name, Ramona Badwolf is his daughter and will be the Big Bad Wolf, or as the Shannon Hale books calls, Big Badwolf, but since where she stands in the destiny conflict is still unknown, it is unknown if she doesn't want to follow her father's destiny - as in, if she's a Rebel.
Before becoming Red's husband, it was apparent that back in his younger years as a student at Ever After High , he had a crush on the Evil Queen.

And i was disappointed with that. So when i got my hand on Bad WOlf audiobook, i try to be optimist. The book indeed deliver all of that jo raven signature story.
Broken hero and a heroine to save him. Although the beginning of the story where Jarred proposition Gigi makes me cringe in disgust.
However the middle of the book when Jarred shows his vulnarability, i swoon back in. Needless to say, this book giving me back my fan girling for jo raven.
Bad Wolf was a stand-alone by Jo Raven. Although not my first book by the author, Raven was a recent new author to me. Garret and Gigi met as teenagers.
They had an unusual friendship until Gigi moved away. Fast forward three years and they met again. Raven quickly highlighted the past before diving into the present.
And it began with a mysterious vibe. We knew there were secrets and danger but werent privy to the details until the author began to slowly unravel the layers.
And it moved slowly. I craved a swifter storyline. The circumstances were so dire for Garrett that I struggled reading it.
I wanted something good. He was so strong, but he let him self be walked on and put down. It was his choice.
Then simultaneously two souls reconnected with a common theme but on opposite sides. I desired more happiness and good. In the end, I liked Garrett and where he ended up.
He has so much promise that it needs a follow up novella in order to make the more story complete. View 2 comments. This author has so much potential but needs to hire a really good editor ASAP!
This is the third book i've read by this author, and I have encountered problems that should have been caught in the editing stages with every single one.
Im sorry but I just cant do it anymore! I refuse to pick up another book by Jo Raven until she puts out content that is perfectly edited, easy to read and not confusing AF.
She can easily be a 5 star author if she just takes the extra steps and effort to get there. View 1 comment.
Jo Raven never fails to twist her readers up with emotion and desires over her trouble bad boys so it was not a surprise to me that I fell so immediately and devastatingly hard for Jarett.
Because I had already met Gigi in previous books, I couldn't wait to get to know this girl that is full of sunshine and sass in equal doses and happens to be just what the dark and broody Jarett needs to live a better life and experience love.
It wasn't long and I was so enthralled with Bad Wolf and its Jo Raven never fails to twist her readers up with emotion and desires over her trouble bad boys so it was not a surprise to me that I fell so immediately and devastatingly hard for Jarett.
It wasn't long and I was so enthralled with Bad Wolf and its fictional world full of gangs, deception, unrequited love, and heat! I was entertained while burning up with desire and wrapped up in nail biting suspense from the moment their story began!
Jarett is a guy who has been down on his luck from day one. From the moment he would find a family that would love him, something bad would happen and he would be back to where he started with a shortage of love and opportunities.
Between his broody nature, his fierce loyalty to those he loved, his dirty mouth, and his delicious body, I found myself wanting to cuddle the hell out of him and my mind going to very naughty places.
Dragon Games. He is proud of Cerise because she won the trial, holding ten baskets. The Unfairest of Them All He teaches General Villainy to a new class of students, but because Badwolf is disappointed with his students' lack of interest, he gives a one-week assignment which enforces the students to compete against each other to see who is the baddest.

You get the sense that something very fishy is going on. This was quite a long book, and a lovely twisty and convoluted tale - my favourite kind.
Red herrings and twists abound and you just don't know what's going on, but hang on and enjoy the ride - its worth it. I love these books by Nele Neuhaus and will read as many as have been translated.
Nov 15, Roger rated it it was amazing. Bad Wolf was an absolutely excellent police procedural. This is the sixth book in this series, but I do not think all of the other books have been translated into English.
Don't let that run you off. You can work out past events using context and still have an enjoyable reading experience-I know I did. The action takes place in and around Frankfurt Germany and by the time you are into the last fourth of the book you will be reading at a maniacal pace to see what happens next.
Truly well done. Horrible topic, but a good read. Nov 19, Neil McCrea rated it liked it Shelves: german , crime-fiction , police-procedural , first-reads.
Bad Wolf is the novel that the Crimebot would write after being fed child porn statistics and 10 years worth of major network crime dramas.

It may be that I've simply read too many crime novels in too short a time, even if I still find myself looking forward to the half dozen or so crime novels I have on deck.
I shall have to fall back on Ruskin's basic rules for criticism to get through this one. What was the author's intention? How well did they succeed at that intention?
Was it worth doing, did it further the literary "conversation"? The intention? Bad Wolf follows a fairly standard model for the police procedural sub-genre.
A social issue is introduced through a specific crime and we watch as a group of law enforcement officers of one stripe or another work their way through the situation.
The police procedural is more likely to have a didactic element than most other crime novel sub-genres, and serve to support or critique the manner in which the police handle the social issue at hand.
And of course, the novel intends to entertain. The execution? I don't expect most readers will learn much about German police procedure or child pornography that they didn't know or couldn't work out for themselves, so the didactic element is a wash.
Plenty of dramatic tension arises from the interplay between what the investigators want to accomplish and internal law enforcement disputes. Attention is paid to how "the job" affects the personalities of the characters, and how their personalities affect the performance of their job.
Mystery elements take a back seat to other concerns, but fans of conspiracy stories and thriller pyrotechnics get plenty of bang for their buck by the end.
Was it worth doing? There is just enough novelty in Bad Wolf to give it a place at the table, but what it adds to the body of crime fiction is incremental at best.
On a final note, I found myself much more drawn to minor characters than I did any of the protagonists. I can't help but imagine that the same story told from the perspective of Bernd Prinzler, the bike gang leader would have been far more compelling than the suburbanite cops, mother to be and television personality that we get.

As there were numerous references about previous characters and events, it probably would have helped as there are A I received an ARC of Bad Wolf through a Goodreads giveaway in exchange for an honest review.
As there were numerous references about previous characters and events, it probably would have helped as there are A LOT of characters in Bad Wolf.
I was almost tempted to set up a spreadsheet to keep up with them all but that takes all the fun out of reading as far as I'm concerned. Also, I found the change every 2 - 3 pages from character to character and scene to scene a little disorienting, but it did serve to keep the story moving along.
However, I feel some of the story's cohesiveness was sacrificed for the pace's sake. The story itself - the discovery of a child-porn ring and the ring leaders' subsequent violence to avoid capture was fairly gruesome, but there were no real surprises of the "who done-it" variety.
Too many "motives" were left unexplored for my tastes most notably Nicola Engel's. On the whole, I found most of the characters on the dull side.
Overall, story good if predictable , but I found the characters on the dull side. If I were to trip over Snow White must die at the library, I'd likely pick it up, but don't look for me in the line for Nele Neuhaus' next book.

The one thing that really stood out to me is the similarities this has to mystery books that were created in Sweden.
I know this is the authors 2nd US release and previously Nehaus was mostly a European writer but other than that I am not familiar with her origin, so my connection between her and Swedish fiction is strictly I had a little trouble getting into this book.
I know this is the authors 2nd US release and previously Nehaus was mostly a European writer but other than that I am not familiar with her origin, so my connection between her and Swedish fiction is strictly based on the tone and style of the book.
The problem is I have never been a big fan of that style of writing and this holds true here. The story moves along at a pretty good clip and, especially in the sections dealing with the kids, is fairly moving.
It should be noted that this book does not pull many punches. It can be a little brutal at times and is not for those who like more sterilized mysteries.
Other than the tone that the book was written in my other problem is the personal stories between the characters seem a little confused. While the mysteries are indeed standalone this type of series the connective threads are in the characters personal interactions.
Sep 02, Oceansword rated it liked it. First off, the publisher did a disservice to the author and the reader by opting to follow Snow White Must Die 4 by translating Bad Wolf 6.
The book also suffers from having too many POV characters and a transparent villain that I saw coming from the very outset. Although I may be in the minority on this opinion, I was also bothered by the gender stereotypes that underlaid a lot of the plot I loved the twisty darkness of Snow White Must Die but was ultimately disappointed with Bad Wolf.
Although I may be in the minority on this opinion, I was also bothered by the gender stereotypes that underlaid a lot of the plot and action. Melanie appears quite late in the book to avenge the wrongs done against her but her eventual fate is she arrested?
Similarly, our male characters suffer from the same stereotypes. Our villains lack nuance unless you count sadism as a nuance.
I don't. Several times our male heroes ride in to save the day at the very last moment. Also: it's apparently okay to cheat on your wife so long as it's not an affair but just a prostitute?
Dec 14, Allison rated it liked it Shelves: netgalley , ereader , mystery. As a police procedural, this works well.
The author does a good job of introducing the different characters and narrative shards and then piecing them all together.
